Leap of Faith

Growing up in Colombia, Ricardo had a big dream:to study and live abroad.

More than just a goal, it was a deep desire to discover the world, experience new cultures, meet different people, and live a life filled with purpose and adventure.

But the path to making that dream a reality was filled with questions and fears:

Will I adapt to the classes?

What if I don’t fit in?

Can I handle the cold?

Will I feel completely lost in a new country?

When he and his family found Misstudy, everything changed. During his first call with Yasiara, he realized that this wasn’t going to be just another counseling service, it was the start of something real. Misstudy listened, understood his concerns, and walked him through each part of the process, not only with practical advice but also with the emotional support he didn’t know he needed.

Program: Science and Microbiology

University: University of Manitoba

Yasi helped me believe in myself and in this journey. She didn’t just tell me what to do — she explained why it mattered and how I would grow from it.
— Ricardo

With that reassurance, Ricardo took the leap. Today, he’s studying Science and Microbiology at the University of Manitoba, thriving both academically and personally.

His story reminds us that fear is normal, but with the right guidance and determination, fear can become fuel.

Feeling like Ricardo once did?

You don’t need to figure it all out alone.
