I need to find a program that suits my interests and personal goals

I need clarity on all my doubts regarding the university processes

‘’I had a bit of a crazy year: I quickly realized that so much of my confusion during university emerged from me looking for excuses not to study what I loved: music.

The transfer process seemed scary to me. Thanks to the work we did on the application and musical portfolio with Misstudy I was able to change my career and life.

I’m very happy there and seem to have finally found my place… many twists and turns, none of which I regret: all part of a necessary quest to find my inner voice and soul’s core again. Sending much love and thanks again!"

MAKE THE JUMP

I grew up in Colombia, and the young dreamer and adventurer I was, I aspired to do great things. One of my dreams was to study and live abroad.

I wanted to have the opportunity to immerse myself in new cultures, meet different people, and live an adventurous life.

Of course, I had many doubts about this process: would it go well for me? Would I understand the classes? Would I be able to handle winter? Could I settle into a different culture?

I found out about Misstudy and my parents and I contacted Yasiara. I was able to speak with advisors from Misstudy and really liked the way they worked with me to spark the confidence I needed. I received great support, trust and advice to overcome all my fears and insecurities. Yasi gave me a lot of information and advice and explained to me that I would adapt little by little to ensure that I would achieve my goal.

So I set out on an adventure. I started my studies in Science and Microbiology at the University of Manitoba, and am very happy with my decision.

EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINING!

Can you imagine what it is like to feel constantly restless despite having a university degree and a good job, and to feel like you are failing in the working world? Well, it happened to me!

Despite working professionally, I wanted to continue developing my career and business. On a personal level, I wanted to venture out and expose myself to a more international environment and feel like part of the world. My solution, a master's degree outside of Colombia, nothing more and nothing less than the University of Oxford, the best of course!

4 years ago I went through a selection process and failed, because the person who advised me left me with low self-esteem, making me believe that I did not know how to write or speak convincingly, and that I would not be able to get into Oxford! Discouraged, I abandoned the idea.

But my restlessness returned, failure taught me that I needed help to achieve my dream! I found MISSTUDY…. Suddenly EVERYTHING SEEMED POSSIBLE!

Yasiara was very supportive, she taught me to be more organized, and she forced me to push my limits. Thanks to her advice, I felt much more confident in myself and the entire process. I was encouraged to apply to the university I wanted, and I succeeded!

YOU CAN DO IT!

When I was preparing my college application, my biggest fear was leaving home and the many changes that would come with it. In high school, the workload is manageable. College is a completely new territory. It can be chaotic and a lot more difficult: Far from home, your whole routine has to change.

During your senior year, you have to prepare everything for university and take care of many other things at school. Any senior applying to college doesn't know how to organize everything properly, or how to properly present themselves to colleges. No one taught me what to do, so I started my own research on how to respond to the university's prompts. I got nowhere.

So my advice is, if you're having a lot of trouble keeping up with college and school stuff if you're struggling to handle both, and to stay organized, contact Yasiara at Misstudy! Now that I am in college, I am surprised by how much social time I get, despite doing a lot of work during the week.

FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS!

Since I was a child, I have loved watching musicals. I always knew I wanted to study Musical Theater. In my hometown, there are almost no programs offering the type of things I wanted to study, so to achieve what I wanted, I knew I had to leave Ecuador.

One of the things that most worried me was all the procedures of applying to universities: how to write all the essays, how to do the interview, how to contact the schools, and what documentation I had to prepare. I had applied to universities previously but only found universities that did not offer a university degree I liked and that would be valid in my country. The programs I found were very expensive.

My mom attended a conference where she met Yasiara and immediately knew that Misstudy could help us. Misstudy assured us that they could help us find a good university that also fit our budget.

Misstudy made the process so much easier and faster for me. I did not feel intimidated by the process at any time. I felt confident because I was working with them. I am fulfilling my dream of studying for the degree I want and feel excited about all the new experiences that await me.
